CRDN is a global leader in textile and electronic restoration, helping homeowners and businesses recover after fire or water damage. Operating through a franchise model in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., CRDN depends on its digital platform, RestorNet, to manage every part of the job lifecycle—from intake to invoicing.
As the company scaled, its legacy RestorNet platform—built on Microsoft Dynamics CRM—became a bottleneck. CRDN partnered with Dualboot to reimagine RestorNet from the ground up, creating a modular, cloud-native system built to scale with the business and serve its franchise network more effectively.
The opportunity
Originally built over a decade ago on Microsoft Dynamics CRM, RestorNet had evolved into a patchwork of workarounds that strained under CRDN’s day-to-day demands. Key issues included:
- Performance and usability limitations: The system slowed dramatically under high-volume usage, creating friction for franchisees during critical workflows.
- Inflexibility: Years of technical debt and tightly coupled features made even basic enhancements difficult to implement.
- Lack of centralized reporting: Fragmented data capture created inconsistent insights across corporate and franchise levels.
- Painful onboarding: New franchisees and employees struggled with a steep learning curve, impacting adoption and satisfaction.
- Manual workarounds: Franchisees had to rely on error-prone manual processes to meet insurance documentation requirements.
- Technical maintenance hurdles: Platform dependencies blocked upgrades, and the CRM-based architecture limited extensibility.
As a result, franchisee confidence declined, support costs rose, and prospective territory sales were at risk. CRDN needed a scalable, future-ready solution that could support continued growth, improve operations, and foster deeper alignment across its network.
The solution
CRDN partnered with Dualboot to fully reimagine and rebuild RestorNet from the ground up—transforming it into a scalable, modular, and future-ready system that would support the company’s long-term vision.
Approach: Dualboot designed and implemented a greenfield architecture using modern cloud-native technologies. The new platform was built to support day-to-day operations (job management, inventory tracking, insurance documentation, and royalties) while enabling future enhancements through a modular system structure.
Key highlights:
- Azure-based architecture using containerized deployments via Azure Container Apps
- Modern frontend with Next.js and TailwindCSS; backend with ABP (.NET) and SQL Server
- Mobile: FSA (Field Services App) rebuilt in Xamarin and deployed via TestFlight
- DevOps: Terraform, GitOps, and Azure-native CI/CD tools
- QA: Automated testing using Playwright and Cucumber
- Modular integrations planned for Xactimate, Symbility, QuickBooks, and royalty payment logic
Implementation
To ensure a platform that truly served its users, Dualboot:
- Conducted discovery workshops and site visits to gather input from franchisees
- Built a scalable design system and high-fidelity Figma prototypes
- Delivered incremental MVP releases, starting with non-insurance workflows and FSA integration
- Collaborated closely with CRDN’s IT and product teams, iterating through requirements and feedback in real time
- Developed multiple POCs for high-complexity components like pricing logic, QR code management, tree-view navigation, and Power BI reporting
“This is amazing. You have taken everything from RestorNet that annoyed me and improved it.”

The impact
While the full rollout is scheduled for 2026, the new RestorNet system is already delivering value across CRDN’s network:
- Eliminated legacy limitations: A future-ready, flexible architecture removed previous blockers to product innovation
- Improved visibility and reporting: More reliable, centralized data capture supports better decisions for both executives and franchisees
- Faster, smoother onboarding: Enhanced UX and guided workflows reduce ramp-up time and build franchisee confidence
- Scalable process foundation: New design and development systems ensure additional modules can be added without rework
- Increased internal alignment: Collaboration between CRDN and Dualboot fostered shared ownership of product direction
With the new platform, CRDN is no longer just keeping pace—they’re positioned to lead their category with a tool that evolves with their business and strengthens the entire franchise network.
